Streamlining the dog-walking experience

Pet care is a crucial and highly personal business, requiring plenty of trust from all parties. Communication is a central tool in facilitating this trust. That’s why Wag wanted to make it easier for pet parents and dog walkers to talk seamlessly through the Wag app.

Prior to the addition of the chat feature, pet parents and caregivers were only able to communicate off-platform. Bringing a chat feature to the app itself enhanced each service a pet parent scheduled, providing context and peace of mind, all within the Wag app.

As the UI/UX designer for this new feature, I was responsible for the experience and look from the very beginning. Together with other members of the design and engineering teams, I was able to flesh out a chat experience adaptable to each stage of the service.
